Five Questions with Account Executive Ashley Mungiguerra

Please welcome Ashley Mungiguerra to the Dala Communications team!

Ashley has fit right in since her arrival in March, overseeing clients in an array of industries, from construction and architecture to multifamily and education. When she’s not tackling her PR to-do list, she’s cooking, walking her dogs, and planning a wedding. She will marry her fiancé, Zac, in 2021.

Before Dala, she coordinated marketing efforts for VLG Marketing and Mixed Media Creations. She also was an account executive at BizCom Associates, working with several clients in the restaurant space.

What advice do you have for people growing in their careers right now?

“Be open to all opportunities. I didn’t end up with a career that exactly matched my degrees at Hofstra University, but the skills I learned in school have aided immensely in my career growth. I was a double major in Journalism and Political Science and a double minor in French and European Studies. Yes, I was busy. Be prepared to change your mind and take on new challenges. Eventually, you will find the path you are meant to be on.”

Have you met anyone famous?

“Yes! When I was an intern at NBC News my senior year in college, my desk was in an MSNBC studio, and I used to see guests coming in and out all the time. The most exciting celebrities I saw were Richard Engel, Stephen Colbert, and Chace Crawford. Shows my wide range of interests. Ha.”

What are you looking forward to this year?

“Personally, getting married. Professionally, continuing to grow into my new role and developing new PR skills. I’m a big proponent that you never stop learning, and there is always something new to learn, either for fun or to advance your career.”

Do you have a favorite charity you wish more people knew about?

“I’m currently a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor 2.0 Program, and I love it. BBBS is much more than its Big/Little Program. Having the opportunity to mentor and connect with a high school student has been incredibly rewarding. One of my goals is to be more active in my volunteer efforts and support other causes around DFW.”

What do you do outside of the office?

“My travel bucket list is never-ending. Whether it’s a big European city or a campsite in the desert, I love getting away and exploring new places. I have a long-term goal to visit every national park in the U.S. I also love cooking/baking. I enjoy getting my friends and family together and playing hostess. I also have two dogs, Bailey and Josey, and I love to spend as much time with them as possible.”
