Celebrating International Women's Day

International Women’s Day, celebrated each year on March 8, is a global celebration of women’s social and economic achievements. As a woman-owned business, we take immense pride in joining millions of people worldwide to commemorate this day and celebrate not only the exceptional women on our team, but reflect on our collective achievements as a group.

To honor this day, Dala is revisiting some of the client initiatives we worked on over the last year, and highlighting the outstanding contributions of our female clients in their respective industries. These women are trailblazers and thought leaders in their fields, and we are privileged to have played a part in their success.

  • The Trinity Christian Academy Trojanettes dance team showed exceptional dedication and preparation last year, which earned them a well-deserved reward; the squad was selected for the second time to perform in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. What a great year for the Trojanettes!

  • Dallas LIFE, a faith-based homeless recovery organization, served 100 fried turkeys to veterans and homeless individuals at their shelter this past Thanksgiving. The non-profit organization continues to positively impact those experiencing homelessness in Dallas through its Homeless No More program, which helps residents recover and gain independence through education, training and employment. This event was made possible by 200 volunteers, who came together to put on a Thanksgiving meal for those in need. One of the individuals whose life changed through the program is Robin Murawski, a woman who struggled with addiction and arrived at Dallas LIFE in hopes of redeeming herself. She is now the food service director at Dallas LIFE and runs their kitchen and staff.

  • Riley Seahorn was honored by Engineering News-Record as one of the Top Young Professionals in Texas and Louisiana for 2024. As a project manager at McCarthy Building Companies, Riley has made significant contributions to the company and her achievements are a testament to her hard work and talent.

  • Andrella Thomas was recognized as one of Dallas Business Journal's Leaders in Diversity, setting an example for others to follow. She has overcome various challenges, including abuse and poverty, and has paved her own path to success in her role as social innovation manager at Capital One. Andrella has been with the company for 28 years and has made it her mission to help others through kindness, empathy, and leadership, by helping them find their purpose and a sense of belonging.

  • Firehouse Agency started 2024 with a bang - celebrating taking the top spot in Ad Age's Best Places to Work in 2024! That's partly thanks to incredible women like Erica Baker, Megan Ward and Corrie Brock. Erica and Megan were named partners, while Corrie just joined the team but is already making waves!

    • In addition to being a partner, Erica also serves as group accounts director. She has climbed the ladder since starting as an account executive over nine years ago. In 2017, Baker was named Firehouse’s “Agency MVP.” She has led businesses, including Baxter Auto Group, Trupanion, Texas Dairy Queen, Bellevue University, and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Erica is also a founding Firehouse’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team member.

    • Megan is the partner and director of operations. She manages high-level projects, oversees project management, discovers relevant partnerships, and is responsible for driving agency success through organizational leadership. Megan has been working with Firehouse in multiple capacities for 14 years. In 2012, she was named Firehouse’s “Agency MVP.” She also received the “2019 AAF Shining Star” award, which celebrates leading women in advertising in DFW. Ward is also responsible for spearheading the company’s efforts with Richardson ISD to establish the Firehouse Work-Based Learning Series.

    • Corrie spoke to a sold-out crowd at the Women’s Business Council Southwest Table Topics. She engaged the crowd as she discussed healthy pushback, something many women struggle with at work. In addition to her talk, Corrie also wrote an essay on the subject for BizWomen (publish date coming soon)!

Congratulations to all of our female clients who have exceeded expectations in their leadership roles through their achievements. And shout out to the Dala’s own team of fierce females who work hard every day to tell the stories of our client’s female leaders while shining the spotlight on all of our amazing clients. We can’t wait to see what the rest of this year brings!
